Visual Impact – What will happen to the landscape?

Maer Hills can be seen from miles around and makes up arguably some of the best landscape views in the whole of the county.

How will the landscape be changed forever? With the proposed four 125 metre tall turbines, with spinning blades bigger than a Jumbo Jet, drawing your attention endlessly.

Comparison of a turbine with 80 metre diameter blades against the wingspan of a Jumbo Jet. This diagram shows a turbine which is a total of 100 metres high. The Maer Hills turbines will be 125 metres high in total with even larger blades of 90 metres diameter.

These massive Turbines are over four times taller than Maer Hills Repeater Mast. They will dominate the landscape for miles around and may pave the way for the holiday village to follow.

The permanent removal of thousands of trees that cover Maer Hills will have a dramatic impact on the wonderful views and character of the landscape that we all currently enjoy.
